The Wake County Public Schools System is excited to announce their first Parent Academy Catalog (English) (Spanish). The catalog contains a series of free skill-building classes, workshops, and educational events aimed at helping families learn to engage with the school system and contribute positively to their child’s academic and social success.
The Parent Academy is a Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) initiative designed to strengthen the relationship between parents/guardians and schools and to help parents navigate the school system. Research shows that students achieve more when parents are involved in their child’s education.
This is a partnership with a diverse team of WCPSS educators and local community agencies, organizations, businesses, schools, and faith-based institutions.

CALLING ALL EOG PROCTOR VOLUNTEERS!
We are in need of proctor volunteers for EOG Testing. Testing Dates at Olds are May 20(ELA), May 21(Math), and May 27(Science) from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. each day. As a proctor, you serve an important role as an additional monitor who helps the test administrator ensure testing occurs fairly and uniformly. In order to serve as a proctor, you must be approved in WCPSS volunteer system and attend a one hour proctor training session. If you are willing to serve as a proctor in for the North Carolina Testing Program at Olds Elementary please contact our testing coordinator Jennifer Fine at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 919-856-7708 as soon as possible. She will get back to you with proctor training dates.
*If you are not a registered volunteer please note that the volunteer system is open during the hours of 8-4 on Mondays- April 27, May 4, and May 11. These are the only days left that volunteers can register in order to be approved and added to the volunteer registry.
