Borrowing Privileges
Children in all classes may borrow books from the library.
- Kindergarten
students choose books which are checked out to their class. Those books
remain in the
classroom to be shared during the week by class members. Kindergarten
children learn to check out books in their own names, care for them
in the classroom, and return their own book at the next library class.
- Beginning
in First Grade, books may be taken home.
- First graders may borrow one
book, second graders may take two, third graders three, and so on.
- Books
may be renewed and there is no fine although it is expected that books
be returned on time and in good condition so that others may enjoy them.
A
child who has overdue books may not borrow again until the late books
are returned. Lost books must be replaced in kind or paid for.
